[Translation of press release in Japanese]
Works Applications Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, Chief Executive Officer: Masayuki Makino; hereinafter "WAP") today announced NRS Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Yoichi Noto; hereinafter "NRS") have purchased “COMPANY HCM&Payroll,” “COMPANY Workforce Self-Service,” and ” COMPANY Talent Management.”
Pursuit of new HR system
NRS is one of the world’s leading logistics providers for chemical and hazardous cargo, its service areas encompassing domestic and overseas logistics and storage of chemical materials, and extending to the rental, leasing and sale of ISO tank containers, IBCs and JR containers. NRS comprises the largest tank container and IBC sales and leasing market in Japan.
The end of their server maintenance period prompted NRS to examine their ideal system and workflow in line with their business plan objective to transform into a “profit-generating structure”. Functionalities in their existing system were insufficient and their development would have incurred excessive costs. In addition, an estimated 3,000 hours were found to be spent on inefficient work processes and manual tasks annually, placing the company’s focus on systemization of operations and automation. NRS required increased visibility of HR information crucial for managerial decision-making, including information about members of its group companies and desired a HR system which could facilitate strategic human resource planning.
Impetus for implementation
Ultimately NRS decided to adopt “COMPANY” after highly rating its comprehensive range of standard features ranging from its cross-sectional database facilitating group company oversight to its propriety electronic application system all made available in a single package, and its free upgrades to continually improve work processes. Through the use of “COMPANY” as a one-stop integrated platform for the management of all group HR data, NRS are looking to eliminate inefficiencies and individual dependency; systemize, optimize and streamline business operations while simultaneously adopting a data-driven strategy across the entire company to enhance human resources planning and development.
Supporting internal talent management and optimizing human resource planning
“COMPANY” allows you to intuitively select and identify human resources from numerous locations through the immediate search and analysis of attributes such as employee performance, career aspirations, work experience, qualifications and interview history. Its multitude of standard functionalities allow you to identify typical candidates for transfer, HR/site-led transfer patterns as well as transfers patterns that create vacancies for subsequent transfers in addition to creating a candidate pool for executive positions, thus optimizing human resource planning.
