[Translation of press release in Japanese]
Works Applications Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and Chief Executive Officer: Masayuki Makino; hereinafter “WAP”) is pleased to announce that Shin Nippon Air Technologies Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, President and Representative Director: Hiroshi Natsui; hereinafter “SNK”) has adopted its next generation HR integrated management system, “COMPANY” HR series.

COMPANY Case Study

Work-life balance initiative “4 weeks, 8 holidays” is impetus for HR system overhaul

Mitsui Group company SNK provides comprehensive engineering solutions based on air condition, which range from the creation of a better human environment for offices, shopping centers, hospitals, hotels etc., and the creation of industrial facilities, such as clean rooms, and constant temperature and humidity rooms for semiconductor plants and similar facilities, to the construction of district heating & cooling system.

In 2017 SNK formulated its mid-term business plan “SNK Value Innovation 2020” which sets out to achieve a greater work life balance among its employees and also established a “Working Innovation” team as an organization under the direct control of the President. As part of the company’s “4 weeks, 8 holidays” initiative under the mid-term plan, SNK established a support structure to help curb long working hours, improve workplace productivity and also launched initiatives in response to various issues and challenges.

This included a review of its existing attendance system, as part of aims to implement a labor management system that could accommodate employees working at various company locations, such as construction sites or outside of company headquarters. Additionally, a need for a HR integrated system that could facilitate the promotion of the company’s work-life balance initiatives, enable future revisions to employment regulations and assist a move to paperless operations through advancement of ICT spurred SNK to consider a complete system overhaul.

Adopts “COMPANY” Series to flexibly support system revisions and business changes

After comparing various HR systems, SNK finally adopted “COMPANY” HR Series after recognizing WAP’s “customization free” and “free upgrade” business concepts as achieving continuous business improvement over time.

Utilize expertise accumulated in “COMPANY” to streamline administrative operations

Consolidating management of operations in “COMPANY” that would ordinarily be managed separately reduces the effort associated with data linkage as well as the man-hours required to perform conformity checks, supporting a reduction in the workloads of administrative departments. Any structural changes can be accommodated quickly and with no extra cost by utilizing the multitude of standard functionalities “COMPANY” has to offer. By utilizing the expertise accumulated in “COMPANY” through its wide implementation in the construction industry, you can generate continuous improvement in your business operations.

Digitize HR forms and reduce overall workload

Digitizing paper-based operations such as the distribution and collection of year-end tax adjustments and changes to commuter routes due to personnel and address changes not only improves work efficiency, but also reduces HR workload for inputting, checking and responding to inquiries.

SNK will utilize expertise accumulated in “COMPANY” from over 90 of our client companies in the construction industry to identify operational challenges and work on the implementation of improvement strategies. We will continue supporting their field operations and initiatives to improve work life balance through workload reduction enabled by our platform.
