Works Applications Takes Top Prize in “Best Workplaces Asia” for 2015

TOKYO – February 5, 2015 – Works Applications, Japan’s largest ERP software provider, today announced it has been awarded Best Company in the first annual Best Workplaces in Asia ranking, published by Great Place to Work Institute, Japan. More than 900 companies with bases in Japan, China, South Korea, India, Australia, Sri Lanka, United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia were included in the survey. The top 25 companies which received particularly high evaluation scores were honored at an awards ceremony in Mumbai.

Works Applications received the Best Company award based on a survey of employees, who provided strong evaluations in the categories of "trust in management," "pride in company and work," and "camaraderie with co-workers" which form the evaluation standard used by Great Place to Work Institute.

360 Degree Evaluations Lead to Greater Employee Satisfaction

Works Applications takes a unique approach to employee evaluations, known as a 360 degree evaluation. In traditional systems, a supervisor performs a uni-directional evaluation; as a result, everything depends on the viewpoint of just one person. At Works Applications, supervisors work together with coworkers on the employee’s team to provide a balanced assessment of work performance. Employee grade and compensation is adjusted with each evaluation, which has led to greater employee satisfaction.

Encouraging Creativity and Collaboration across Borders

As part of its growth strategy, Works Applications has acquired outstanding people from various countries including the Indian Institute of Technology (recognized as one of the world's leading educational facilities) as well as from universities in Singapore, the United States, and China. Works Applications has opened overseas offices in Shanghai, Singapore, and New York. The company is dedicated to creating a fulfilling work environment where employees in Japan and overseas enjoy their occupations and work collaboratively and creatively with their coworkers. A new office will open in Los Angeles, California, early this spring.
