Nagano Prefecture adopts COMPANY as its internal office work integrated system

~Labor management and application processing work of 18,000 employees at the prefectural office, police department, hospitals, and educational agencies has been achieved using the no-customization package~

Works Applications Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director, Chief Executive Officer: Masayuki Makino; hereinafter “WAP”) is pleased to announce that we have received an order for three products, COMPANY Attendance Management, COMPANY Workforce Self-Service, and ArielAirOne for COMPANY, from Nagano Prefecture for its new internal office work integrated system. In addition to the Nagano prefectural office, plans to introduce these products into the police headquarters, hospitals, and education committee (including elementary / junior high schools) are underway.

The challenge of cost reduction and the efficient operation of labor management and application processing work of 18,000 employees


Nagano prefecture introduced its current internal office work integrated system in 2003, and labor management of prefectural officials was performed. However, as it became time to update its hardware, the prefecture also considered renovating its whole system, including software. Since labor management was carried out using a different input method, such as application in person or by a representative, importing data from another system and improvement in the complicated operations was needed. The COMPANY series was adopted as the new system to solve these challenges.

A common system to accommodate different styles of operation at each bureau of the prefectural office as well as police, hospital, and educational agencies.


By adopting COMPANY, management of labor operations for various employment and labor styles of prefectural employees, such as officials at the prefectural office, police officers, and hospital employees, can be carried out using a common system without individual customization. Moreover, when additional functions or changes are necessary due to revision of the law or change in the system, these can be handled through the self- maintenance according to the free version upgrade and changing the parameters. In this way, not only does this result in overall reduction in costs, a system which can be managed by officials without relying on system development vendors can also be realized. By utilizing the above described features, conversion to an independent administrative institution by the prefectural hospital as scheduled for 2010, can be handled by changing the system settings, including the payroll system, without incurring additional costs. By introducing COMPANY at this time, WAP has contributed to operational efficiency of the general office work department and information sharing between prefectural officials working under different job positions.

Further strengthening introduction of COMPANY for local government and independent administrative institutions


In recent years, WAP has focused on introducing its products not only to major private companies but also to local governments and independent administrative institutions. In the future, WAP plans to expand its products and functions and further strengthen sales activities for ERP packages which can respond to various operations, regardless of the business type, in order to promote operation efficiency and cost reduction to even more companies and organizations.
