Works Applications Launches Free Consulting Services to Customers Using COMPANY Financial Management Software Series to Help Continually Improve User Experience

TOKYO – July 30, 2013 - Works Applications, Japan’s largest ERP software provider, today announced it will begin offering Business Improvement Planning Support (BIPS), a free work improvement consulting service, to customers that have deployed and are using its COMPANY AC Series accounting work package since August 2013.

In the accounting field, it is particularly important for companies to conform rapidly to external environment changes such as tax or law revisions, it is also critical that their IT systems change fluidly to respond to changes in accounting work.

For that purpose, Works Applications has created BIPS, a free service to continually support improvements in accounting work, to customers who are using its COMPANY AC Series software module. Works Applications will obtain the COMPANY operation data of each business and analyze its operation status. Since the data is collected by Works Applications, not only is each individual company's accounting work operation analyzed, but the data is compared with the operation status of other companies.

Consultants from Works Applications will recommend work improvement measures and a place where work improvements can be shared within each customer company. Since COMPANY is not customized for each company, analysis and comparison of the operating status of subject customers can be performed based on unified indexes.

BIPS services include:

  • Work data assessment - Based on the requests of customer companies, system operation data for each fiscal year will be extracted. By comparing the data with those of other companies or those of past years for your own company, your company's operation status can be made visible. By using the strengthened functions through free version upgrades of COMPANY, work whose efficiency will be approved are listed. In addition, we will propose improvement patterns based on each company's work operation history.
  • Roundtable - For companies who are members of the COMPANY User Committee, we offer a place where grouping of customer companies by business category, size, etc. can be performed and work improvement measures can be shared while referring to each company's operating data. It is because each company is using the same version of COMPANY that the people in charge of the work at different companies can have discussions between them. Methods for using "COMPANY" assumed from the extracted data will be proposed from the actual developer.

Specific example:

By extracting data on the expense report submission dates and approval dates, it is possible to perform analysis of the lead time from submission to approval. By identifying stagnation factors in the expenses approval flow, it becomes possible to propose designating a proxy approver or sending an alert to the approver when the number of days since application becomes large. In this way, lead time can be shortened, which can lead to earlier period closings.

Conventionally, organizations have paid fees to consulting firms to perform work analysis or offer improvement measures. However, since it will now be possible to consign such work to WAP, the system developer, major reductions in cost can be realized. In addition, the work improvement performed by consulting firms generally takes about three months from the work interview to analysis, but by using the independently developed data collection tool of BIPS, the work analysis report can be provided in about one week. By doing this, work analysis can be performed without any inconvenience for customers to hold work interviews.

Since BIPS will become a driving force for the work improvement cycle for Works Applications customers, it will contribute to continually improving the IT return on investment in the COMPANY platform. Works Applications is aiming to offer this service to 100 customers within FY 2013, and will offer it successively to customers after that.
