Works Applications Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Executive Director and CEO: Masayuki Makino; hereinafter "WAP") would like to announce that we will perform group company restructuring toward expansion of the service business. Therefore, as of September 1, 2011, the group company Legend Applications, Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Tsutomu Kubo; hereinafter "LAI") will take over all of the rights and obligations related to business, with the exception of the middleware business for "COMPANY", from Works Solutions (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Tadashi Ikarugi; hereinafter "WSOL") through an absorption-type split.
Aiming for expansion of the service business
This integration is part of our efforts to expand the WAP service business. WAP, in addition to the business process outsourcing (BPO) being rolled out by Works Business Service Co., Ltd., we aim for further growth by strengthening our project management and business consulting work areas.
LAI will contribute advanced technical skills and project management skills.
LAI was established in 2005 with engineers at the core. It has industry-leading technology that specializes in open-source technology, starting with Java, and through its system configuration with excellent performance and maintainability, it has continued to provide long-term cost benefits to user companies so far. In October 2009 it joined the Works Applications Group, and in August 2011 it became a wholly owned subsidiary of WAP.
