JVC Kenwood Holdings Inc. adopts "COMPANY" HR Series for construction of new HR system as part of business merger

~Aiming to greatly reduce the HR system TCO during the move to a new personnel management system~

Works Applications Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer: Masayuki Makino; hereinafter "WAP") is pleased to announce that we received an order from JVC Kenwood Holdings Inc. (Headquarters:  Yokohama City, Kanagawa; Chairman and CEO: Haruo Kawahara; hereinafter "JVC Kenwood Holdings") for "COMPANY HCM & Payroll," "COMPANY Web Service" and "COMPANY Attendance Management" on January 26, 2010. Following a short two-month implementation period, the above three products were put into operation starting from April 2010.
 

Background for Implementation of New HR System

JVC Kenwood Holdings was formed as a joint stock-holding company in October 2008 following a merger between Victor Company of Japan, Ltd. and Kenwood Corporation. Currently the JVC Kenwood Group is comprised of four main companies including the above two companies, as well as their affiliates. Following the business merger, the JVC Kenwood Group introduced new IT cost optimization policies. As part of these efforts, it began to consider the purchase of a new HR system in order to greatly cut TCO. Beginning the selection process in December 2009, it was decided that the new HR system would be implemented starting in April 2010. While the new system allowed IT cost reductions, it also required a structure and operational organization system capable of rapidly react to the system change.
 

Reasons for Selection of COMPANY

Having been given high marks for the following points, "COMPANY" was selected as the new HR system.

・A clear schedule and organizational system was provided for getting the system up and running in two months.

・The products' lack of a need for additional developments such as add-ons and customization prevent the possibility of additional costs occurring and allows them to be implemented in a short amount of time.
 

Effects of Implementing COMPANY

In order to get "COMPANY" up and running within the limited time available, WAP clearly indicated the functions that would be necessary from the initial stages in order to meet the customer's requirements. In addition, it created a phased implementation plan. Further, the JVC Kenwood Group dedicated sufficient organization resources to assure that the schedule was faithfully followed. Because of this, after an implementation period of only two months, the new HR system comprised of "COMPANY HCM & Payroll," "COMPANY Web Service" and "COMPANY Attendance Management," as well as the new organizational structure based around on this platform, were able to enter service starting as scheduled from April 2010.
