KDDI realizes strategic HR information management with "COMPANY" HCM Series

~Aiming to visualize human capital by centralizing information on over 10,000 employees~

Works Applications Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer: Masayuki Makino; hereinafter "WAP") is pleased to announce that we received an order from telecommunications operator KDDI Corporation for a new HR system comprised of three WAP products; "COMPANY HCM & Payroll," "COMPANY Web Service," and "Ariel AirOne Enterprise for COMPANY." Further, the products have gone into service sequentially, starting in August 2009.

Realizing centralized management for HR information on over 10,000 employees with "COMPANY"

Having gone through a large-scale merger in 2000, KDDI was needed to manage a massive amount of information on over 10,000 employees, including many on-loan workers and expatriate employees. Because of this, there was a need to centralize this massive amount of highly distributed HR data. "COMPANY" received high marks for the high level of adaptability allowed by its standard functionality without the need for the development of individual functions. This high level of standard functionality, gained through a track record of implementation at around 800 companies, led to its selection as KDDI's new HR system. Now able to unify the once highly distributed mass data, KDDI gained the ability to strategically leverage their human capital. For example, by using an understanding of employee aptitudes to better allocate personnel.

KDDI has a goal of reducing employee workload and increasing user-friendliness by promoting the use of "self-service" HR information.

Even with their previous system, employees were able to file their own requests and various application procedures. By introducing this new system, operating costs have been reduced while web-based access to various HR-related application procedures, certificate issuance, employee information inquiries, etc. has been improved. This has allowed the promotion of greater self-service in HR information. This has led to reduced workload and increased operational efficiency for HR-related tasks, such as inputting and checking the massive amount of data generated every day. Simultaneously, this improves user-friendliness for employees, and promotes the accurate and timely updating of information. Further, because this allows for a seamless link between the "COMPANY" Series and other systems, multiple divisions can now smoothly exchange data.
WAP will continue working to expand its products and their functionality, while also strengthening its business activities as a vendor of ERP packages that are capable of handling all the tasks required at major corporations with their standard functionalities.
