Works Applications Co., Ltd. (hereinafter “WAP”) is pleased to announce that we have been ranked 4th at the 3rd Great Place to Work Awards, by the Great Place to Work Institute Japan (hereinafter “GPTW”).
A Great Workplace is defined as “a place where employees trust the company, manager, and administrator, and have pride in the work they do, and have a sense of solidarity with the people they work with.” A survey based on an employee questionnaire to measure employee trust, pride, and sense of solidarity in the company system and measures implemented by the company, and information on the company culture. WAP was ranked in the top 25 companies in the survey in 2008. Since then, various improvements in the company system and job environment have been made, based on the employee survey, questionnaire, etc. In the 3rd survey carried out between September 2008 and January 2009, support from our employees dramatically increased, especially in trust, fairness, and pride. Our ranking 4th at this time is considered to be a direct result of those activities. Under our company policy to “Providing exciting opportunities for Japanese critical workers,” which has been in place since our establishment, we offer an exciting field to our employees, and try to improve each system and its environment, in order to create products which will contribute to society.
Great Place to Work Survey
A survey focusing on an employee questionnaire is carried out by the Great Place to Work Institute, a survey research agency (headquarters in San Francisco, U.S.) Since 1998, the top 100 companies have been announced in Fortune magazine each year. Currently, the survey is carried out based on common standards in more than 40 countries around the world. More than 3100 companies (as of 2007) have already been listed on the survey. In Japan, this was the 3rd announcement, with participation from 77 companies.
